Mantra, Visualization, & The Awakening Of Your Mind

facilitated by Robert Gray

Mantra and visualization are powerful spiritual tools used for thousands of years by monks, nuns, great rinpoches and lamas in many cultures and religions to focus and awaken their minds.  One of the most popular mantras, the mani mantra: om mani padme hum is recited by millions of spiritual practitioners all over the world.  It is said that it is possible to count the raindrops in a 12 year storm, but you cannot count the blessings received by the recitation of one mani mantra said with a pure heart.

Mantra and visualization are active forms of meditation that work with the flow of the energy of body, speech, and mind.  The mind naturally thinks in visual terms and visualization transforms the way we perceive visual phenomenon.  These tools utilize the fact that our minds are naturally very active.

Visualization is a powerful tool used in tandem with mantra to transform and awaken our minds.  But this isn't visualization in the way most people think of it.  These ancient mandalic visualization techniques have been preserved in Tibetan culture.  We will be exploring several mantras and several visualizations that when used daily will really help to expand your clarity, awareness, and consciousness.

You can do mantra and visualization anytime, and anywhere which makes it a practical spiritual practice for those who may be too busy for or have trouble with other forms of mediation.  You will learn how to visualize with your eyes open and how to recite mantra in several ways.  You will learn how to use a mala or prayer beads with mantra to deepen your practice.  These are practical easy to use tools that can really help you in your spiritual journey and in every day life.
