Parenting and teaching children is the #1 Most Important job on the planet!  The way we care for and talk with babies and young children and the environments we create with and for them are vital to their unfolding potential.

Each of us is born with a Purpose.  Our Dreams/Visions for ourselves serve as a natural spark in the form of Curiosity, Passion and Joy that feeds that Purpose.  This spark, which holds within it each individual’s Potential for the fulfillment of that Purpose, needs a nurturing, caring, safe and supportive environment to allow the germinating, growth and ultimate blossoming of the full Potential that lives in each one of us.

How can parents and teachers help to keep this vision – this spark -alive in every child?  How can we go the extra mile and intentionally cultivate the Blossoming of that natural Potential in all children?

Connect with other parents and teachers in an atmosphere of trust, respect and inquiry.  You will increase your awareness, your patience and your understanding of what you need to cultivate both within yourself and within the children in your life, to experience this Blossoming both in yourself and in them!

Dr. Jewels Maloney

Dr. Jewels Maloney has an M.Ed. and Ed.D. in Creativity and is a former teacher of young children and professor of education. Jewels started learning from young children in the early 1980’s in early childhood centers in Cambridge and Amherst, MA.   In the 90’s, she became a professor with the mission of assisting young, and older! teachers to recover their self-esteem, wonder, awe, joy and curiosity.

Jewels taught teachers the same way she wanted them to teach children – using nature and the arts as pathways to both learning and expression, interweaving the entire curriculum in and around natural connections and meaning making, creating a community of equals, honoring all diversity, and removing grading and competition from the university and elementary school classroom.  Jewels has founded two nature- based schools for children to demonstrate that they can create their own curriculum, naturally and effectively through play.
