Rishi Nityapragya

Dressed in white robes, a radiant smile, peeping out of a face covered with long silky hair and dark beard, the tall and fair Rishi Nityapragya used to race motorcycles and sing in musical bands until he discovered yoga and meditation at the age of 21. His quest for unravelling the mystery of life took him to various spiritual teachers at a very young age. The search continued until he met Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.  At the first meeting he knew he had come home as he had an experience of completeness and supreme consciousness. At his first meeting with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, he realized he shared Sri Sri’s vision of putting a smile on everyone’s face.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

One of his many talents is the transformation of consciousness through music. As you know, sound and words have a big effect on the human mind. Some sounds and words can agitate the consciousness, while some can create harmony and tranquillity. Through his devotional singing and meditative chants, thousands of people have experienced a lasting shift of consciousness. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, talking on the value of chanting once said that the ancient Sanskrit sounds have a healing and harmonizing effect on different organs of the body. For example the sound Ram may provide healing for the live while the sound Shiva may quiet the mind. The result of ancient chanting can effect a remarkable change and healing in all areas of the physiology and soul.

Rishi has taught and traveled and sung and spoke throughout the world including Russia, Siberia, Europe, South Africa and Asia. Last year he did over 150 presentations to an average audience of about 6000. This is his second visit to Sedona. We hope that you will welcome him warmly.

Following Rishi's visit, The Arizona Art ofLiving Foundation will be offering its foundation course which was originally titled "A Taste of Enlightenment" when it was first taught by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in 1982 in India. Rishi will return to Arizona again June 26th-30th.  This time Phoenix will host the foundation course (The Art of Living Course).
